  • How is data migration being managed?

    All scheme data will migrate during transition, and where appropriate, it will be tested to ensure it has moved from MyCSP to Capita.

    At each of the different stages of migration, the data will be tracked and reconciled to ensure accuracy.

  • What is included in the destruction process?

    The media removal process applies to:

    • all Hard Disk Drives, Solid State Drives, magnetic tape libraries, floppy disks, removal media, optical media, RAM and smartphones
    • local media devices used by MyCSP users and teams are collected and destroyed
    • any paperwork remaining in MyCSP offices or datacentre locations will be shredded following existing processes
    • any media held in remote MyCSP offices will be transported back to the Cabinet Office’s datacentre under dual control so they can be destroyed.

  • What is the process for reconciling data?

    Data reconciliation is conducted at each stage of the migration process, starting from the source data supplied and continuing through each migration and testing environment.

  • What is the purpose of the exit plan with MyCSP?

    The exit plan ensures that there is a strategic roadmap for transitioning services and data from MyCSP to Capita. Additionally, there are robust measures in place for the permanent deletion of data, removal of assets, and protection of sensitive information throughout.

  • When is the change happening?

    Capita will take over the administration of the Scheme from 1 December 2025.

  • Who is responsible for assuring these activities are carried out?

    Cabinet Office security leads will ensure all documented activities and processes are completed.

  • Why is the Civil Service Pension Scheme changing pension administrator?

    Capita secured the new contract to manage the Civil Service Pension Scheme (CSPS) for the Cabinet Office from December 2025.

    Under the new contract, they will modernise pensions administration systems through enhanced system design and digital innovation.

    They will integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology to transform the pension experience for you as members of CSPS. This will provide personalised and engaging digital channels to better plan and manage your retirement savings.

    Capita will be responsible for delivering employer and member services; pensions payroll; administration services relating to the Civil Service Compensation Scheme; Civil Service Injury Benefit Scheme; and related finance and accounting services.

    Until advised otherwise, you should continue to contact MyCSP and use the current Civil Service Pensions website for pension/scheme queries, resources and training opportunities.   • Will I still be able to attend training and events?

    Training and events will still be available through the current administrator and via the Civil Service Pensions website.

    We’ll be providing training to support employers to use the new Employer Portal in 2025. We’ll advise when these are available.

    Yes, we’ll provide training that you can register for through this website. We’ll also provide additional resources, including videos and guides to make sure you understand how it works and what you’ll need to do.
