  • Why is the Civil Service Pension Scheme changing pension administrators?

    Capita secured the new contract to manage the Civil Service Pension Scheme (CSPS) for the Cabinet Office from December 2025.

    Under the new contract, they will modernise pensions administration systems through enhanced system design and digital innovation.

    They will integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology to transform the pension experience for you as members of CSPS. This will provide personalised and engaging digital channels to better plan and manage your retirement savings.

    Capita will be responsible for delivering employer and member services; pensions payroll; administration services relating to the Civil Service Compensation Scheme; Civil Service Injury Benefit Scheme; and related finance and accounting services.

  • Who is Capita?

    Capita is an outsourcer, helping clients across the public and private sectors run complex business processes more efficiently, creating better consumer experiences.

  • When is the change happening?

    Capita will take over the administration of the Scheme from 1 December 2025.

  • Does Capita have experience in pensions?

    Yes, they have been looking after people's pensions for nearly 50 years, across pension schemes of all shapes and sizes. Their broad range of services means they are perfectly positioned to support members like you.

  • What will happen to the current website?

    You will still be able to access the current CSPS website and use resources and tools in relation to your pension.

    Once we have transitioned over to the new website developed by Capita, they will be launching a new website on 1 December 2025. This will still be accessed via the same URL, www.civilservicepensionscheme.org.uk.

  • Who should I contact if I have a query?

    If your query is in relation to your pension, you should continue to contact MyCSP. The current Civil Service Pensions website should be used for pension / scheme queries, resources and training opportunities.

  • I want to retire at the end of November, will the change of administrator impact my retirement journey?

    No, until 1 December 2025, we advise you to retire as normal.

  • I want to retire sometime in December 2025, how will this change affect me?

    Start the retirement process at least 4 months before you intend to retire and we will manage your case as the administration moves from MyCSP to Capita.

  • What are the changes I should expect to see in December?

    Capita are aiming to provide a seamless transition. Members will have access to a new website and pension portal. From 1 December 2025, members will be asked to sign up to the new pension portal, look out for information about this from Autumn 2025.

  • What will happen to my existing (MyCSP) portal account?

    You can continue to use your existing pension account until 30 November 2025. From 1 December 2025, your existing account will be closed. Capita will contact you with instructions about registering for the new member portal.

  • When will I have access to the new (Capita) member portal?

    You will get access to the new member portal from 1 December 2025. If you already have an account, Capita will contact you with instructions about registering for the new member portal.

  • What will be available on the member portal?

    Members will be able to view their personalised dashboard as an active, deferred, pensioner or partially retired member.

    • Log in to their personalised dashboard as an active, deferred, pensioner or partially retired member
    • View and amend personal details, including address (active members will also need to inform their employer of any change of address)
    • Add, update and view their death benefit nomination(s)
    • Annual Benefit Statements (ABS) for those not affected by Remedy will have access to their statements up to and including 2021. ABS for 2022-2025 will not be available on the Member Portal from 1 December for a member to view or download, but they can request one by using our Contact us form.
    • Remedy affected members will not have access to statements prior to 2024 as ABS's issued before roll back are no longer correct. Remedy affected members can request a 2024 and 2025 statements by using our Contact us form.
    • Remedial Service Statements (RSS) documents are being loaded as PDFs to the Portal, but are being released in stages. If a member requires a statement urgently, they should request a copy using the Contact us form.
    • Use the retirement modeller (this will not be available for 1 December).
    • Pensioner members can view, download and print their current payslips and search previous payslips
    • Pensioner members can view, download and print their current P60 and view previous P60 records
    • Download information about the scheme and relevant documents
    • Deferred members will be able to see what their benefits are worth and when they wish to retire, follow the process to retire online
    • All members can contact us through a secure mailbox and review responses to their queries and allow the submission of forms

     

  • I currently receive paper statements, do I need to re-register to continue to receive them?

    No you will continue to receive your paper statements.
