  • Why is the Civil Service Pension Scheme changing pension administrators?

Capita secured the new contract to manage the Civil Service Pension Scheme (CSPS) for the Cabinet Office from December 2025.

Under the new contract, they will modernise pensions administration systems through enhanced system design and digital innovation.

They will integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology to transform the pension experience for you as members of CSPS. This will provide personalised and engaging digital channels to better plan and manage your retirement savings.

Capita will be responsible for delivering employer and member services; pensions payroll; administration services relating to the Civil Service Compensation Scheme; Civil Service Injury Benefit Scheme; and related finance and accounting services.

  • Who is Capita?

Capita is an outsourcer, helping clients across the public and private sectors run complex business processes more efficiently, creating better consumer experiences.

  • When is the change happening?

Capita will take over the administration of the Scheme from 1 December 2025.

  • Does Capita have experience in pensions?

Yes, they have been looking after people's pensions for nearly 50 years, across pension schemes of all shapes and sizes. Their broad range of services means they are perfectly positioned to support members like you.

  • What will happen to the current website?

You will still be able to access the current CSPS website and use resources and tools in relation to your pension.
